Daily Life VR is a WebVR series about some of life’s most basic and essential pursuits: eating, pooping, sleeping. Virtual mini-worlds allow people to do these usually-solitary, mundane activities companionably together. Accessible with only a smartphone and an internet connection, the project aims to combat loneliness and to permit people to imagine different formats of life.

We're proud to launch the first installment of this low-tech virtual reality series. Chapter 1: Poop is a communal bathroom experience in which users can evacuate together on a huge toilet.

Watch the promotional video here.
Cinematography is by Ziv Schneider. "Pooptastic" is by Mingus.

The soundtrack for the VR experience is by Andy Sigler. Thanks also go to Brandon Jones and Vladimir Vukicevic for the WebVR spec, Boris Smus for the WebVR polyfill and boilerplate, Ricardo Cabello for THREE.js.

Laura Juo-Hsin Chen, 陳若昕, is a creative coder and doodler who is interested in weird human interactions. She is passionate about creating them by bringing different worlds into view using 3D graphics and physical objects. She is currently a research resident at NYU's ITP.
